The world of streaming and TV is often full of fights between content companies and streaming services or cable companies; however, they typically happen behind closed doors. This week AMC went public with a quick swipe at Hulu.

Yesterday AMC sent out an email to viewers promoting the new season of “The Walking Dead,” and they included a line telling fans that they can watch everywhere EXCEPT Hulu.

Whereas Hulu is not the only live TV streaming service that doesn’t offer AMC, they are the largest. fuboTV also does not offer AMC.

AMC has a history of publicly going after companies to get a better deal. Back in 2014, AMC warned subscribers of a possible “The Walking Dead” blackout with DIRECTV in an effort to get a more lucrative deal. They went as far as to air an ad during “The Walking Dead” telling fans of a possible blackout of the network on DIRECTV.

AMC is hoping to rally their fans to put pressure on Hulu to add AMC. So far there have been no reports of talks between Hulu and AMC. It is possible they are underway or AMC is hoping this will push Hulu to come to the table.

No matter what stage talks are at it is clear that AMC wants to be on Hulu and is hoping you will help pressure them.
