One of the main selling points of the 2017 Roku lineup is the new remote. With the new Roku remote not only can you control your Roku but also your TV. The new Roku remotes auto-detect your TV and allows you to power on and off the TV and control the volume.
Now Roku is for the first time selling the 2017 Roku remotes as a stand-alone item in their store. The best part is you can use it with older Roku players.
Here is how Roku describes the new remotes:
Roku® Voice Remote with TV Power and Volume Buttons plus Gaming Buttons
The Roku Voice Remote now gives you the convenience to power up and change the volume on most televisions, control your Roku player and use your voice to search for your favorite shows across 500+ channels. It’s fully loaded with features, including a headphone jack for private listening, lost remote finder and gaming buttons.
There are two versions of the remote one for boxes and one for sticks.
