There seems to be great confusion over what CBS and The CW affiliates CBS has announced they will add. After getting a lot of comments and messages about this I wanted to take a moment to address what CBS and The CW affiliates are/have been added.

A lot of this has arisen because DIRECTV NOW emailed every DIRECTV NOW subscriber saying CBS and The CW were coming. Yet AT&T has only officially said that CBS owned and operated CBS and The CW affiliates would be added. (They did hint that others could be added in the future.)

I wanted to take a moment and list all the CBS stations we can confirm will be added.

NOTE: All the CBS affiliates listed have been added already. Only a few of The CW affiliates have been added. AT&T has yet to issue an official statement on this so we are assuming this is still a work in progress.

The following are all the CBS stations that CBS currently owns:

  • Alexandria, Minnesota
  • Baltimore
  • Boston
  • Chicago
  • Denver
  • Detroit
  • Fort Worth
  • Los Angeles
  • Miami
  • Minneapolis
  • New York City
  • Philadelphia
  • Pittsburgh
  • San Francisco
  • Stockton, California
  • Walker, Minnesota

The following are all The CW stations CBS owns:

  • Atlanta
  • Detroit
  • Pittsburg
  • Philadelphia
  • Sacramento
  • San Francisco
  • Seattle
  • Tampa

So as of today these are all of the CBS and The CW locals we know will be added to DIRECTV NOW.

With that said DIRECTV NOW has deals with many owners of CBS affiliates for their ABC, FOX, and NBC stations so it is possible more CBS stations will be added soon.

So when can you expect CBS stations to be added?

According to AT&T CBS stations will be added in the next few weeks. It could be next week or it could be a month or more down the road. About two months passed between the time the fuboTV-CBS affiliate deal was announced to the day it added CBS affiliates. (The CW affiliates are still listed as coming soon.)

So I expect CBS to be added likely sometime this month or in September 2017.
