Recent reports form the New Your Post hint that Chelsea Handler may leave network TV and move over to Netflix.
“Handler has a deal with Netflix, but the format is to be decided,” said one source close to the talks.
This all comes a few weeks have Handler strongly criticized her current employer on the Howard Sterns radio show. “They don’t know what they’re doing. They have no ideas. It’s a failure,” Chelsea Handler said before hinting she might head to Netflix.
If Chelsea Handler brings her talk show to Netflix would fill a big gap in their line up. Well there is no argument that Netflix has an amazing line up of scripted shows the daily talk show is missing. Filling this hole could attract more viewers to drop cable and move into the cord cutter movement. This could also be Netflix first move into shows released daily and not released as a season.
It will also be interesting to see if Netflix will stream her show live or tape delayed.
Handler and Netflix have refused to comment.
