DIRECTV NOW Adds Support For 5 New Apps

It seems that DIRECTV NOW has updated the list of apps they support this weekend. Now if you go to the websites of A&E, Lifetime, History, FYI, and Viceland you can now use your DIRECTV NOW login to access on demand content from their WEBSITES right now.

Update: It looks like the website is working if you use the links over on this Reddit post here but the apps as of right now are not. Likely to be updated soon.

Update #2: We now hear iPhone apps now work!

Here are the apps it already had access to with DIRECTV NOW login:

  • ABC
  • AMC
  • BBC America
  • BTN2GO(Big Ten)
  • Bravo Now
  • Disney
  • Disney Jr.
  • Disney XD
  • E! Now
  • ESPN(WatchESPN)
  • FOX Now
  • Freeform
  • FX Now
  • HBO GO(requires premium subscription to HBO)
  • IFC
  • MAX GO(requires premium subscription to Cinemax)
  • MSNBC Now
  • MLB TV
  • NatGeo(currently unavailable on Apple iOS)
  • NBC Golf
  • NBC Sports
  • Olympic Channel
  • Oxygen Now
  • Sprout Now
  • Sundance
  • Syfy Now
  • Telemundo Now
  • BET
  • CMT
  • Comedy Central
  • LOGO
  • MTV
  • Nick
  • Nick Jr.
  • Spike
  • TV Land
  • VH1
  • WE

Remember: If you have AT&T wireless and do not want DIRECTV NOW streaming to count against your data cap (if you have one) you will need to use the DIRECTV NOW app. Using apps such as WatchESPN or BTN2GO (Big 10 Network) will count against any data usage.

Access to these apps often gives you access to even more on-demand content than you get from DIRECTV NOW. This makes these apps very popular with many cord cutters.

Nice to see DTVN continually expanding their app support. I got an e-mail last night that they just added the REELZ channel for free as well. I’m on the Go Big promo package.

  • Joseph Blow

i’m not seeing the ability to log into the websites with directv now on either A&E or History.

  • JGaLaXY

if they have History channel, thank god because DTV Now’s on demand is not good lol

  • tbird2252

Been with DTVN now since early Dec. Hope they will soon add app access to AHC, OAN and TCM…

  • Mike Pallas

I will switch to Direct TV Now once they add access to Investigation Discovery GO. We watch this a lot and it has so much more content than the channel in DTV Now.

“Update #2: We now hear iOS apps now work!” Strange I don’t see DTVN listed on my iPad for A&E and History. Is this for Apple TV only?

    • MacHead84

      Confirmed on iPhone

  • Iphart

DTVN, please add CNN, Fox News (well maybe not this one!), HGTV, Food Channel, and my most favorite TCM!

    • John Burgess

      and Animal Planet…..

  • Gforce1963

Not sure if I’m missing something, but I don’t see Directv Now listed in the full provider list anymore, yet they still list it on Directv now supported apps page.

  • Mike Stambaugh

Tried logging in to History app and DTVn did not come up as a provider

  • Don Alsup

I noticed that DirecTV Now released an app for non-4K Roku TVs last night.

Used the links at REDDIT and first four worked great. Tried the link to Viceland and it doesn’t auth. Tried going directly to their website – no DTN auth? Anyone else having problems – or is it just me.
