From looking at the email it looks like DIRECTV NOW is getting ready to add a new DVR cost to the bill as a possible add-on. Currently everyone’s invoice shows the “True Cloud DVR” as a $0.00 charge on their renewal.
From looking at this email its clear that some part of the new DIRECTV NOW DVR will not be free. Yet it could be everyone will get a free DVR but if you want to upgrade it to a higher plan it will cost extra. Maybe an option for extra storage etc maybe in the works.
Currently, beta testers of the DIRECTV NOW DVR are only getting 100 hours of storage. It is possible you will be able to buy extra hours of storage on top of that or you may have to pay to get access to the DVR.
We have reached out to AT&T for details but at this time this new “True Cloud DVR” more questions than answers.
