DIRECTV NOW Just Cut The Number of Hours Their DVR Beta Offers

Since the DIRECTV NOW DVR Beta launched it has come with 100 hours of DVR storage included. This week though AT&T opened up their DVR beta to more DIRECTV NOW subscribers and also cut the number of hours each new DVR beta tester gets.

After talking with multiple Cord Cutters News readers who are in the DVR beta we can confirm that new beta testers are only getting 20 hours of DVR space. As best we can tell early beta testers who got the 100 hours of DVR storage still have access to all 100 hours.

How many hours will you get with the DVR when it goes public? We are not sure. Sling TV’s DVR beta offered 100 hours, but when it went public it only offered 50 hours. We will need to wait for the official announcement to find out what the storage limits will be.

So far we can confirm that DIRECTV NOW’s new DVR is being beta tested on the Apple TV, Android, iOS, Fire TV (2nd gen), Chrome browser, and the Chromecast. AT&T now lists Roku as coming later but no date and time have been set.
