This week DIRECTV NOW released a major update to their DIRECTV NOW beta, bringing some new features and major updates to the back end.

So what’s new?

Faster Channel Changing and Browsing

In this update switching between channels and browsing the guide have been improved. You will find swiping between channels to be faster and browsing the guide loads more quickly.

Network Errors

One of the biggest updates is the fix for network errors that the beta used to be full of. You will find the beta to be far more stable now.

Streaming Limit

One thing many beta testers may not be happy about is AT&T added the two stream limit to the beta app. In the past, you could have all the streams you wanted. Now it once again limits you to two streams.

Bug Fixes

After talking with many beta testers it sounds like the new app is far more stable. Gone are many of the crashes and glitches you found in earlier versions.

Final Thoughts

The latest beta update feels like a far more finished product. It feels like an app that could go live with one or two more minor updates. Hopefully, that means the new DIRECTV NOW DVR and app are ready to go public in the next month or so.
