Facebook has slowly been rolling out its new video app to new devices. Back in March Facebook rolled out their app to Samsung devices, Amazon Video, and more.

Now it is the Nvidia Shield & Android TV turn to get the new Facebook Video app. With this new app you can log in to your Facebook account and watch videos from your friends. You can access top videos and recommended videos on a wide range of topics too.

You will also get access to Facebook Live Videos not only from your friends but also find the most popular Facebook Live videos at that moment. This could be a great resource for breaking news because more and more TV channels started offering live coverage of breaking news streamed on their Facebook pages.

This seems to be the early steps into a video service to take on Twitter and its new video streaming efforts. Recently Facebook and Major League Baseball (MLB) Started streaming a MLB game every Friday.

Hopefully Facebook will continue to offer more events streamed for free on Facebook and a growing list of supported media players.

You can add the Facebook app to your Android TV device by going to the Facebook Google Play listing. If you select a Android TV device it will download the special Facebook Video app to that device.
