Cool…. can they now add an easy-to-use grid interface that has the times on one row, and channels in the other? It makes it easier to use a DVR if you can see easily what is about to come on.

don’t get me wrong…the interface sure is pretty! It helps calm my anger when I spent 30 minutes to figure out what will be on in the next hour on all my channels…to see if anything is worth adding to my DVR.

If they could fix the buffering issues, it would be a contender for sure. I switched back to PS Vue because of the excessive buffering.

That’s so weird. I have Hulu live and don’t have any buffering issues at all. It also has three of the big four local channels in my area and all of them have been added in just the last three months. They are by far the best service I have used. I also don’t get all the knocks on the UI. It’s not like cable. …ok….isn’t that what we want? I like that it puts the content front and center and then provides you the live stream if you want it. If you want a service that’s just like cable, then isn’t it best to just keep cable?

I could also make an app that only uses Morse Code to change the channels and set the DVR…and that would be the MOST different from cable than any other app…isn’t that what we want?

No…simplicity is what I personally want. And it is not simple on Hulu TV to find what shows are about to be live so I can add it to the dvr. I had the Showtime add on…and I just wanted to see all the movies that were going to play within the next hour..and see if I wanted to see any of them. Showtime didn’t seem to show up on the “live and upcoming” section…so I had to go into live tv mode, click right a billion times to go to each individual channel, and then push “up”, and the “right” to see what was on…because someone had the bright idea to only allow users to see one channel at a time in live mode.

On sling, DTVN, and Youtub TV…they give a grid-view of times of channels so I can see what is on…and what is coming on…and view MULTIPLE channels at the same time…and add to the dvr easily (except DTVN, who can’t figure out dvr ). Hulu, for me personally, is a headache. They focused too much on making individual selections beautiful with splash screens, and harder to see multiple things at once.

Hulu has the worst interface despite being in the streaming business for years before the rest. Someone must have been paid a lot to give them that terrible design idea.

If they’d add WJLA (ABC in Washington, DC), I’d drop DirecTV Now and switch to them. I’m getting really sick of DirecTV Now delaying their DVR and failing to add the CBS and CW affiliates in my area faster. (I’m in a major market.)

When first becoming a cord cutter, didn’t consider them because of their $15/mo charge for a fully functional DVR. They do have all the channels we want.
