Hulu was busy in 2016 getting exclusive rights to shows and TV networks. Now in 2017 it is still busy buying up all the rights it can.

Recently Hulu got the rights to stream older Disney movies such as Pocahontas and more recently rights to the ABC series “Black-ISH.” Now Hulu will be the exclusive subscription streaming service to watch the classic show “The Golden Girls.”

Starting on February 13, 2017, all seven seasons of “The Golden Girls” will be available on Hulu. “The Golden Girls” was one of the most popular shows NBC has ever had, receiving 68 Emmy nominations and 11 Emmy wins.

Hulu is once again showing that it wants to be more than just the third most popular streaming service in the United States. With a long list of content and a new live TV streaming service on the horizon Hulu is well-positioned to see strong subscriber growth in 2017.

Now the only question is will subscribers see Hulu’s new live TV streaming service as something they want to subscribe to. For now we will have to wait and see what will come of Hulu in 2017.
