Love Netflix and love to travel? We have great news for you! Netflix is now available worldwide! Starting today Netflix is now available in over a 130 new countries.
“Today you are witnessing the birth of a new global Internet TV network,” said Hastings. “With this launch, consumers around the world—from Singapore to St. Petersburg, from San Francisco to Sao Paulo—will be able to enjoy TV shows and movies simultaneously—no more waiting. With the help of the Internet, we are putting power in consumers’ hands to watch whenever, wherever and on whatever device.”
This is great news for families that live or travel overseas including my family. I just got back from two weeks in South Korea. While Amazon Video allowed us to watch rented or purchased content, Netflix was a black wall. Now even when traveling to Korea Netflix should work for all Netflix subscribers.
This is a huge move for Netflix because it opens up millions of potentially new subscribers to Netflix. This new influx of subscribers will give Netflix some badly needed capital to keep up with the spending war Hulu has launched. Not only will this help Netflix get new content, but it also will give Netflix more money for original content.
