Fuller HouseAs you have been watching Netflix, they have been watching you… Recently Netflix has taken some of the data they gathered over the last three years.

“After three years of studying original series releases and nine years of streaming overall, we can now identify some patterns, finally,” Cindy Holland, the vice president for original content at Netflix, said in an interview. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/11/22/business/cindy-holland-of-netflix-learning-to-lead-on-a-pair-of-water-skis.html

“We’ve gotten past, ‘The binge watch, it happens!’ Now we’re trying to distinguish that different series are consumed at different rates,” Holland said.

So what did they find out?

Well to start the types of shows that are most binged watched are horror, thrillers, and sci-fi shows such as “Breaking Bad,” “Sons of Anarchy,” and “The Walking Dead.”

The second-most binged-watched categories are dramatic comedies, crime dramas, and superhero shows, which include shows such as “Fargo,” “Orange Is the New Black,” and more.

Some of the slowest binged shows are political dramas and irreverent comedies. These surprisingly include shows such as “House of Cards” and “Arrested Development.”

Holland went on to say, “The general trend we noticed is that subsequent seasons are consumed even faster than the preceding seasons.”

The tough part about data like this is it is the average. You may find yourself more willing to pound through a season of “House of Cards” than a season of “The Walking Dead.”

So what is your most binged-watched show?
