New Details on Sling TV’s 4 for $10 Deal

Last week Sling TV rolled out a new deal that would give you 4 add-ons—Kids Extra, Comedy Plus Extra, News Extra, and Lifestyle Plus Extra—for just $10. That is a $10 savings over buying them each individually.

Several readers asked us how long this deal was good for, so we reached out to Sling TV. Sling TV told Cord Cutters News that this deal has no end date. It is not a short-term deal, and if you sign up for the deal you should expect to keep it for some time.

This deal will give you access to the following channels:

Kids Extra: Disney Junior, Disney XD, Nickjr., Nicktoons, Teennick, Boomerang, Sling Kids, Baby TV, and DuckTV.

Comedy Plus Extra: MTV, TruTV, Spike TV, MTV 2, CMT, Logo, GSN, and TV Land.

News Extra: BBC World News, TheBlaze, HLN, Fusion, Euronews, France24, News18, NDTV 24×7, RT, and CGTN. (Note: MSNBC is available in the Sling Blue version of this package.)

Lifestyle Plus Extra: VH1, BET, Cooking Channel, Diy, Fyi, Hallmark Channel, WE TV, LMN, Hallmark Movies, Vibrant, and Living Network.

It seems Sling TV is offering this deal to take direct aim at DIRECTV NOW by offering more channels per dollars than DIRECTV NOW.

But still the crapest list of TV Everywhere apps access … Vue beats both Sling and DTVN hands down on this front.

    • Devin Serpa

      But Vue damn expensive.

      • GersonT1000

I wouldn’t say that Vue is that expensive, and especially compared to cable TV prices. However, I use Sling because I feel that I get a lot of value for just $20/month. My second choice would be Vue. I’m locked in to the DirectVT Now Go Big $35 plan (I prepaid to get the Apple TV, sell it, and to see how the service was). If the service actually worked and wasn’t so full of bugs, I would consider it in my top 3, although I hate to give any money to AT&T.

Yes, but conversely with the Sling basic Blue package you can stream all the content from 3 different devices at 3 different locations concurrently. To me that is the most important capability.

I’m lucky to have the Multi-Stream Beta Customer deal which means I have the Blue service, but only pay $20. The downside is that every other deal Sling TV seems to run doesn’t apply to me. So I don’t have access to the 4 for $10 deal. I get the “exclusive price for Beta multi-stream subscribers” which means $5 for those channels individually or $10 for the sports package and more. Of course, I still love the service, am happy with my monthly deal, and love that I can add the sports package for a couple months and then cancel it without any issues. I may try Vue again someday, but for now I’m pretty content with my mix of Sling, Netflix, and Prime Video.

I was wondering about this because I also have the multi-stream beta. But it’s just wondering, because that bundle has a lot of channels I would never watch. I still like the idea because it’s just much better than the cable all in method.

  • Devin Serpa

How about 4 channels for $10?

  • S. Mays

Maybe one day we can have something like “Pick the 15 channels you actually watch for $20 a month”.

  • Max Chaos

Wish it included the Hollywood Extra pack which is $5 as well. If it had that I’d take that and Lifestyle and take two other random ones for that price.

    • Tampammm

I agree completely! Adding the Hollywood pack would have been awesome.

  • Luis Murillo

I only need 5 channels, Cartoon Network being the most important one – ONLY because of Toonami.

  • Tony Wu

It is not good choice for Sling TV customer. The Orange package customer orders Kid package for their kids, and should need multi-room service to watch news or other shows at same time.
