PlayStation Vue has slowly been adding new affiliates all week, but today we found out what locals have been added.
According to a report from Sony, PlayStation Vue has added five local NBC channels in Green Bay-Appleton, Wisconsin; Kansas City, Missouri; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Nashville, Tennessee; and San Antonio, Texas.
Sony also added FOX stations in Boston; Buffalo, New York; Cincinnati; Green Bay, Wisconsin; Jacksonville, Florida; and New Orleans.
According to Sony PlayStation Vue now has access to 225 local channels. (Sony declined our request to list all 225 locals they have added.)
Cord Cutters News has also confirmed that PlayStation Vue has added more MyNetwork TV affiliates, but Sony declined to list what markets they have added them to.
This all comes as PlayStation Vue also added the Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, and Hallmark Drama. This makes PlayStation Vue the first live TV streaming service to offer the Hallmark Drama channel.
Increasingly the live TV streaming market is becoming more competitive. With Hulu, YouTube TV, DIRECTV NOW, and others all launching in the last year, the competition is putting new pressure on three-year-old PlayStation Vue. It will be interesting to see how Sony responds to the new competition.
