roku premiereAccording to research from Strategy Analytics, reported by Engadget, Roku is continuing to dominate the streaming world with over 41 million content streaming devices in use across the country. At 41 million, Roku has 15.2% of the market.

After our survey of over 3000 people, it looks like our readers agree, saying that the device they plan to purchase in the upcoming year is most likely to be a Roku. Followed by the PlayStation, Fire TV, and Apple TV in last place.

The report explains how Roku has built and maintained their lead. By partnering with manufacturers, Roku has been able to market TVs with their interface in a range of price points, making them an accessible option for most budgets. Those who don’t want to invest in a new smart TV can also find affordable options for standalone devices, starting at just $30.

Finally, one potential shortcoming Roku is facing is the lack of a presence in the international market. In countries outside of the United States, Roku doesn’t have the same strong customer base.
