Once Again Sony Tries to Address The Confusion Over The PlayStation Vue Name

If you talk to people about PlayStation Vue you likely know the most common questions you will get about PlayStation Vue is asking if you need a PlayStation gaming system to use it. Now it seems that Sony has heard the complaints and is working on addressing that issue.

In April Sony started testing out ads that focus on the fact that PlayStation Vue works on a wide range of devices. Sony has for some time now been dropping in that they support other devices at the end of ads but now the ads are all about device support.

Now Sony has started to aggressively roll out a new set of ads that promote the fact that PlayStation Vue works on a ton of devices. Devices like the Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Laptops, phones & tablets, and more.

Here is the new Facebook ads Sony is using that show the full lineup of supported devices.

Many including Cord Cutters News have called on Sony to change the name of the service to anything without the PlayStation in the name. I personally recommend Vue TV or Sony Vue TV. Both have a great name to it and keep the Vue name.

Hopefully Sony keeps pushing the idea that you do not need a PlayStation to use PlayStation Vue.

If you put Sony in the name people will expect Vue to work with any Sony tv or Bluray. Probably best to leave the name and advertise better.

Or they could just call it “Vue TV”

        Vue TV
        by Sony (in small print)

          Yes, that could work.

The PlayStation problems don’t end there. Movies bought from PlayStation don’t add UV licenses which Sony is a member.

Even I was confused about Playstation Vue for a long time and ignored any article with the title because I assumed it was only for playstation. I’m an xbox and Roku owner. This is confusion coming from me who has been reading Cord Cutters News for months now! “Playstation” is confusing.
