Sling TV is set for public release, if you are looking for a device to stream it on, check out this list:

Set Top Box:

If you want a set top box get a Roku 3. When I tested out Sling TV they clearly recommended the Roku 3 to test it. There appears to be a close partnership with Roku and Sling TV which makes us think any new updates to Sling TV will come to Roku first. On top of that, the Roku 3 has a huge catalog of other channels: Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, and over 150,000 others.

The Roku 3, in our recent testing, was shown to have a faster user experience compared to the Fire TV.

Best Tablet:

This is a hard one as there are many great tablets. It really comes down to if you are an iPad or an Android fan. I have been using Android now for many years, so I am going to go with the new Google Nexus 9 Tablet with the beautiful 1536 x 2048 pixels IPS LCD display and Gorilla Glass 3.  It is powerful, looks great, and access to the Google Play Store will bring you a wide range of other apps and services.

Best Stick:

With a faster processor than the Roku Stick, the Fire TV stick is by far the best option for a Stick device to watch Sling TV. The performance still can’t measure up with a Roku 3 or a Fire TV box but if you need a stick the Fire TV stick is by far the best option.

Best Android TV Box: (UPDATE: We are receiving reports that some G-Box Q/Android TV owners are having issues with Sling TV this week.)

Hands down, right now, the best Android TV box is the G-Box Q. The G-Box Q comes with dual-band 802.11ac Gigabit 5G WiFi which provides the best connection in high speed close-proximity Wi-Fi networking available. The Q comes with 2GB of ram and 16GB of storage. True 1080p Quad Core XBMC/Kodi HD Playback! High performance Quad Core S802 CPU paired with the powerful Mali450 Octo Core 3D GPU Graphics Processor.

Easy to add applications through the Google Play Store and XBMC/Kodi make the G-Box Q one of the best options to watch Sling TV.

Best Budget Device:

UPDATE: We hear the Android TV devices like the MK808B Plus do not work with current version of Sling TV. You can find the old version that will work online but there is no word if they will support future versions.

If you want a budget stick to run Sling TV and Kodi/XBMC, check out MK808B Plus. The quad-core processor makes this stick one of the fastest Android TV options on the market. Overall, this is a cheap but very powerful device that works great with Sling TV and offers you a wide range of other services.
