Channel Surfing ManToday YouTube TV released a new app for LG and Samsung smart TVs. (2016 and 2017 model years only.) This will allow owners of LG and Samsung smart TVs to enjoy YouTube TV without the need to cast the video from their phones to a device like a Chromecast.

Google says their YouTube TV app is still scheduled to launch on 2014 and 2015 smart TVs from LG and Samsung. You will also see YouTube TV coming to Apple TV and Roku streaming devices in the future.

This is a huge step in the right direction for YouTube TV as it brings them more in line with their competitors like HuluDIRECTV NOWPlayStation VueSling TV, and more.

This means that YouTube TV will be available on Android TV devices, including Nvidia Shield; and those TVs with Android TV built-in, like Sony; plus the Xbox One family of devices, including the Xbox One, Xbox One S, and soon Xbox One X in the near future. Now you can add Samsung and LG smart TVs to that list.
