10 Not-So-Scary Halloween Movies for Kids

Scary movies are a traditional Halloween pastime but with kids, it can sometimes be hard to find age appropriate movies to get you in the Halloween spirit. So, we have put together a list of 10 not so scary movies and shows that can get the whole family ready for spooky season. 

Halloweentown (1-4)

Good for ages 7+

Marnie and her brothers live in a normal town with, what they think, is a normal family. They soon realize that their family is anything but ordinary and comes from a town full of witches, warlocks, and ghouls. With a warlock out to get their family, they must work together to save Halloweentown and their newfound family.

Curious George: A Halloween Boo-Fest

Good for ages 3+

George is going to the annual Boo-Fest and is on the hunt for a legendary scarecrow that steals hats. While searching he finds a competitive costume contest and a large pumpkin patch but soon realizes that finding the scarecrow may be harder than he thought.

Scooby-Doo

Good for ages 10+

The gang and scooby-doo have gone their separate ways but after two years apart they are each summoned separately to Spooky Island to investigate some paranormal activity. Together they must put aside their differences and work together to figure out what is truly happening on the island.

Double, Double, Toil and Trouble

Good for ages 7+

Kelly and Lynn want to help save their family’s house from their mean aunts malicious actions. On Halloween night they sneak off to try and save their house and meet some new friends along the way.

The Haunted Mansion

Good for ages 7+

Jim and Sara are workaholics and when the owner of a mansion calls them to help put his home up for sale they jump on the opportunity to see it, taking their kids along for the trip. But a storm strands them there for the night and they quickly realize the mansion has a few unexpected house ghosts.

Twitches & Twitches Too

Good for ages 7+ 

Separated at birth twin sisters, Alex and Camryn, are reunited on their 21st birthday. They soon find out that they both hold some supernatural powers and must work together to fulfill their destiny and save their friends and family.

Goosebumps 2

Good for ages 10+

Sonny and Sam are working to start a cleaning business to make some extra money when they find a discarded, and locked, manuscript. They decide to open it and find out what it is but they accidentally wake Slappy the Dummy who begins to terrorize the town. Now Sonny, Sam and their friends must work together to stop Slappy and restore peace in their town.

Hocus Pocus

Good for ages 7+

Max is the new kid in town and with Halloween coming up his plans are to take his little sister trick or treating. When they run into his new crush, Max decides to try and impress her and accidentally wakes three witches from their 300 year slumber. Max, his sister, and his new friend must work together to restore peace in their town and get the witches back to where they came from.

Mater and the Ghostlight

Good for ages 7+

Mater has spent his day playing pranks on his friends in Radiator Springs and that night his friends tell him all about the spooky Ghostlight. Now he has to decide if it’s just a spooky legend or real spooky entity.

Super Monsters Save Halloween

Good for ages 3+

The super monsters are back and ready to help get their neighborhood in the Halloween spirit. With many neighbors to help the super monsters work together to remind their friends Halloween can be fun and doesn’t have to be scary.
