School is now in session and that looks different everywhere. Whether you are virtual learning, in person, or somewhere in between, one thing is for sure, teachers are working extra hard this year. Mr. Feeney – Boy Meets World
Living next door to your teacher? Sounds like a nightmare. But for Corey and Eric Matthews they get a little more than they bargained for. From middle school to high school, and throughout college Mr. Feeney is there to keep them in line while also helping them learn some hard life lessons along the way. Annalise Keating – How to Get Away with Murder
When first year law students join Annalise Keating’s Introduction to Criminal Law Class they quickly learn she is a hands-on teacher. The show follows 5 students on their journey to become lawyers while being mentored and taught directly by one of the best defense lawyers in the game, Keating. Her take no bull, way of being will either make you want to be her or be her best friend. You can watch How to Get Away with Murder on Netflix.
Dewey Finn – School of Rock
Dewey Finn is a wannabe musician who gets kicked out of his band. While looking for a job he decides to impersonate his roommate and start substitute teaching. Most of the students are unimpressed by his childlike demeanor but over the course of the film they find that teamwork can lead to growing and maturing together while also forming somewhat of a family. Max Medina – Gilmore Girls
Max Medina. Before he was the fiancé of one Lorelai Gilmore, Max was Rory’s good looking English Teacher at Chilton. He challenged Rory and really wanted to see her succeed at Chilton. He is the kind of teacher you want pushing your kids to try harder while also finding things they enjoy about learning. While his role on Gilmore Girls was short lived he was definitely the best teacher Rory ever had. You can watch Gilmore Girls on Netflix.
Lily Aldrin – How I Met Your Mother
Ever wonder what your teachers (or kids teachers) are like outside of school? I hope my Kindergarten Teacher was as cool as Lily Aldrin. When not out with Robin, Barney and the boys at the pub, she was a kindergarten teacher. We also saw her be a sweet friend, great advice-giver, and a woman who knows when to stand her ground. Jessica Day – New Girl
Who’s that girl? It’s Jess! If one thing is for sure it’s Ms. Day cares about her students. Often encouraging them, working after school with them and even working her way up to become a principal she clearly shows that her dedication is to her students. While her crazy adventures with her roommates may seem chaotic, she makes sure her teaching life is in order. You can watch New Girl on Netflix.
Coach Gary Gaines – Friday Night Lights
Texas takes their football seriously and coaches are the glue that holds those teams together. When Gary Gaines is tasked with leading a Texas high school team to victory he finds out that may be easier said than done. Throughout the movie, he makes difficult decisions, inspires his team, and brings back honor to his town. You can watch Friday Night Lights (film) on Hulu.
Will Shuester – Glee
High school can be hard but Will Shuester, Glee club coach and Spanish teacher, tries to make it a little more bearable by reinventing the high school’s glee club. With students from all walks of life joining the Glee club Mr. Sheuster is there to teach the kids performances but more importantly valuable life lessons. You can watch Glee on Netflix.
Dr. Henry Walton – Indiana Jones
Dr. Henry Walton Jr is just your typical archeology professor who just happens to go on insane adventures. From uncovering the Holy Grail to searching for the Ark of the Covenant he isn’t afraid to get hands on. Even doing it in a three-piece suit on the back of a motorcycle. Can you say multi-faceted? Joe Clark – Lean On Me
Principal Joe Clark comes to Eastside in an attempt to change the direction of the school. When he arrives, he implements “tough love” with his students in an effort to create a productive and positive school experience for years to come. While Joe Clark is not the friendliest administrator you can see the determination to get things done and change the school for the better. You can watch Lean On Me on HBO Max.
