2021 Emmy Nominations are Flooded with Streaming Originals Including ‘The Handmaid’s Tale,’ ‘Ted Lasso,’ and More

The 2021 Emmy Nominations are in, and streaming services are making their mark more than ever. Streaming services have been going all out with content over the past few years, and this year the nominations are mostly dominated by original streaming series.

Netflix’s The Crown and Disney+’s The Mandalorian were frontrunners with 24 nominations each, followed by WandaVision with 23 and The Handmaid’s Tale on Hulu with 21. The feel-good Ted Lasso on Apple TV+ pulled in 20 nominations,

The 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards will air live Sunday, September 19, 2021, on ABC.
