Cutting the cable connection to coax connector illustrating retired people cancelling cable TV serviceCord cutting is a very different world—something cable subscribers just don’t understand. So let’s have some fun today and look at 5 things cord cutters know and love but cable subscribers cannot understand.

#1 Binge Watching Is The Only Way to Watch a Show

Waiting a week or even a few months for the next episode? Forget that! Cord cutters like to enjoy shows by the season. Even NBC has learned that cord cutters won’t start a show if they cannot access every episode made so far.

#2 The Best Shows on TV Are Not on Cable

Have you seen “Stranger Things,” “House of Cards,” “Orange Is the New Black,” or “11.22.63”? Well if you only subscribe to cable TV you have not seen the best TV on TV because these shows are available through streaming only.

#3 What Is a Contract?

I live in a contract-free house. Even my cell phone is contract free now! The best part of this is if I get bored with a show or service I just move on. Only want PlayStation Vue for football season? Then I only pay for it for football season. No longer do I have to agree to a 24-month contract to get football. Month to month is the only way to go.

#4 No One Tells My Family When We Must Watch a Show

Long gone are the days of waiting until 9 PM on a Sunday to watch “Family Guy.” No, in my cord cutting family we watch it when we want to watch it. There is no need to have cable dictate when and how I am watching TV.

#5 What Is a Political Ad?

Is there an election this year? Yeah cord cutters have no idea about that because we do not watch ads.

OK, so we had some fun with this (and taken a slight liberty with it), but I hope you see the point. Cord cutting is a very different world from that of cable TV. Do you have something to add to this list? Let us know. We would love to hear from you.
