By now you’ve heard that Hilary Duff is headed to Disney+ to reprise her starring role in a full Lizzie McGuire reboot series. Now, as if it could get any better, Disney has announced Adam Lamberg will also return to the series as his beloved character David “Gordo” Gordon.
“Gordo was an essential piece of the puzzle to what made the original ‘Lizzie McGuire’ so authentic and beloved,” said Hilary Duff, star and executive producer of the series. “I couldn’t imagine the series without him. I can’t wait for fans to see what he’s up to 15 years later and how he fits into Lizzie’s adult world.”

Gordo is Lizzie’s smart, funny best friend through middle school, a straight-A student who develops a crush on Lizzie. The new series’ storyline will pick up 15 years later when Lizzie is about to turn 30, still getting advice from her 13-year-old animated alter ego. Here are all the stars we know returning to the reboot: Hilary Duff as Lizzie McGuire, Hallie Todd as Jo McGuire, Robert Carradine as Sam McGuire and Jake Thomas as Matt McGuire.
The show’s release date is set for 2020.
