Amazon & Audible Now Offer Choose Your Own Adventure on Alexa

Recently Netflix made a huge splash with their “Black Mirror: Bandersnatch” choose your own adventure movie. Now Amazon is joining in on the craze by offering a Choose Your Own Adventure audio books on Alexa devices.

To do this Amazon has teamed up with ChooseCo the company that is best known for their Choose Your Own Adventure books. Audible an Amazon company will turn the books into audio stories using human voice actors. (Don’t worry no digital text to speech program here.)

At launch Amazon’s new choose your own adventure audio skill on Alexa devices currently offers two books. “The Abominable Snowman” offers 28 total endings and the “Journey Under The Sea” takes you to the Lost City of Atlantis with 37 total ending options. (This is down slightly from the book version that offered 42 versions.)

Currently, these books are offered for free through the Amazon Alexa Skill. Amazon does plan to add more stories but declines to comment on if they plan to charge for future books. To try these stories ask your Alexa devices to “open Choose Your Own Adventure from Audible.” You can also find the Choose Your Own Adventure skill on Amazon’s website HERE.

Here are a few commands that can help you get started:

Say “go back” to go back one scene if you don’t like the choice you made.
Say “start over” to start your current story over from the beginning.
Say “change story” if you are ready to switch to another story.
