If you use the Fire TV live channels interface you may have noticed 12 new channels now show up alongside services like PlayStation Vue and your antenna. This week Amazon added 12 news channels from places like Cheddar, CNBC, NBC News, CBS News, and more to the Fire TV’s channel guide.

This was first spotted by AFTVnews and is very similar to the integration Samsung did with Pluto TV recently. Now when you open the Fire TV channel guide, you now find 12 channels streaming 24/7 news on the Fire TV. You do need the Pluto TV app installed to take advantage of this. So if you have yet to do so go add the free Pluto TV app to your Fire TV.

So far only a few services take advantage of Amazon’s live channels to interface including Pluto TV and PlayStation Vue. Soon with the Fire TV Recast DVR launches you will also be able to access your local channels from your antenna through this channel guide on your Fire TV and Fire TV stick.
