Amazon has released the first trailer for The Aeronauts, starring Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones.
The story is set in 1862. Redmayne and Jones play a scientist and a wealthy young widow who set off an adventure in a hot air balloon with the goal of flying higher than anyone else in history. In the trailer, you’ll get a sneak peek at the chaos and danger the two face during the journey.
The Aeronauts will be released in theaters on December 6 and will begin streaming on Amazon Prime Video on December 20. Like Netflix, Amazon has arranged for a short theatrical release before debuting the film on the streaming service in order to qualify for major awards.

The theatrical experience is an important part of our business, but our highest priority is our customers,” Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke told Deadline.
