Today Amazon has quietly started to update the Amazon Fire TVs, Fire TV Sticks, and Fire TV Edition Smart TVs with a new OS update.
One of the main features you will find in the is that Amazon Prime Video content and Amazon Channels are easier to access.
Amazon Channels
Amazon Channels lets you manage your subscriptions to different services through your Amazon account. No need to have separate logins or billing information. Now with on the Fire TV Amazon Channels will show up in your app section just like the stand-alone version of these services.
Prime Video
To also make it slightly easier to find your Prime Video content Amazon now has an app for Prime Video. Now you can click on that app in the app list and find all of the content you get with your Prime membership.
If you own a Amazon Fire TV Edition Smart TV you are likely already familiar with this system.
One Last Note
Now it is important to remember that Amazon is renaming their video store as Prime Video. Now even if you don’t pay for Prime if you want to buy movies or TV shows you will do that through the Prime Video area and will find your purchased movies and TV shows through the Prime Video area on your Fire TV.
