Third-party app access is a big question we receive. When people want to sign up for a streaming service, they want to know not only what channels come with the service but also what apps they can access.

This chart may surprise many because DIRECTV NOW with 42 apps is the live TV streaming service with the most app support. PlayStation Vue is in second place with 41 apps supported.
Remember that services have to pay for access to these apps. Several services have come out and said they would rather keep the content inside their apps so they don’t have to raise costs. Sling TV does this and recently added every Simpsons episode inside the Sling app along with hundreds of free movies.
Hulu also has a ton of on-demand content you would typically find inside apps. With Hulu’s live TV beta you get access to the Hulu on-demand content giving it a huge catalog of on-demand content.
