Apple TV+ celebrated a big win at the Oscars last night becoming the first streaming service ever to take home the award for Best Picture. The platform’s Original film CODA (children of deaf adults) won the title, beating out competitors like King Richard, Power of the Dog, Westside Story, Don’t Look Up, and more.

This is a huge milestone and a sign of the times confirming that streaming services are serious contenders in Hollywood Award Ceremonies. Many of the nominees in multiple categories were streaming Originals, something that has become the norm in awards shows.

In addition to CODA winning Best Picture, actor Troy Kotsur became the first man to win an acting Oscar for his supporting role in the film as a deaf fisherman struggling to connect with his daughter.

You can stream CODA on Apple TV+ with a subscription starting at $4.99/month.
