Family Watching Television Together Arguing Over Remote

Family Watching Television Together Arguing Over RemoteEver since the new DIRECTV NOW App and DVR was announced it was reported that AT&T planned to merge DIRECTV NOW with DIRECTV/AT&T users. We saw this early on when the very earliest beta testers to DIRECTV NOW’s DVR beta needed to have an AT&T account to sign up for the beta. Now it looks like AT&T has started to merge the accounts of DIRECTV NOW with AT&T accounts.

Last week Cord Cutters News started to hear from our readers that they started to get “id_collision” errors when they try to log into DIRECTV NOW. After a lot of time talking with multiple support agents, they have reported that the issue is that they had both a DIRECTV NOW and an AT&T account with the same email. According to support agents, this is a known issue and AT&T is working on resolving the issue. Sadly after 5 days, the affected users are still unable to log into their DIRECTV NOW accounts.

AT&T has made it clear they want the DIRECTV NOW app to become the app for DIRECTV subscribers also. Now it looks like AT&T is taking one more step to make that a reality as they get closer to rolling out the new DIRECTV NOW app that is currently in beta.
