In total AT&T has lost 2.3 million subscribers in just the last year or over 6,301 subscribers lost every single day. When you just look at the 2nd quarter of 2019 AT&T is losing over 8,549 subscribers every single day.

Now AT&T is warning that DIRECTV, DIRECTV NOW, and U-verse TV will continue to lose subscribers for the rest of 2019. AT&T went as far to war that promotional rates for many TV customers will end in November likely resulting in more customers leaving AT&T TV services. AT&T says this is part of a customer base is cleaned up that will continue through in 2019. AT&T hopes that once the “clean up” is over AT&T will have a “customer base that is perfectly suited for HBO Max.”

It is being reported that AT&T wants to drop low-profit customers in favor of more profitable customers that pick high packages. AT&T is reportedly hoping their new AT&T TV “thin” TV service will allow them to attract more customers to AT&T’s TV services.
