AT&T is Raising The Price of DIRECTV NOW

Depressed mature man holding paper and looking at it while sitting on the couch at homeTonight AT&T started to email DIRECTV NOW subscribers of the Live a Little Package notifying them of a $5 a month increase. Cord Cutters News is getting conflicting messages from readers. So far as best we can tell the price hike is on all DIRECTV NOW packages.

Update #2: Some readers have contacted Cord Cutters News to say their DIRECTV NOW Go Big promo deal is jumping to $40 a month. (See email bellow.)

Update #3: A spokesperson from AT&T sent Cord Cutters News the following statement:

In the 18 months since our launch, we have continued to evolve our DIRECTV NOW products to serve this new customer set and compare favorably with our competitors. To continue delivering the best possible streaming experience for both new and existing customers, we’re bringing the cost of this service in line with the market—which starts at a $40 price point.

This price hike comes just days after AT&T launched their $15 a month AT&T Watch TV live TV streaming service. It also comes only a few weeks after AT&T closed on their deal to buy Time Warner.

According to the email, the price hike starts August 1st, 2018. This price hike includes all DIRECTV NOW subscribers on all plans with maybe the exception of subscribers who still have the $35 Go Big deal that was offered when the service first launched.

Here is the email going out tonight:This is breaking news and Cord Cutters News has reached out to AT&T for comment. We will update this story as we learn more.
