Women Using LaptopToday AT&T announced that they have rolled out fiber to Springfield, IL as part of its push to bring fiber internet to 14 million locations by the middle of 2019 in 21 states. Now in AT&T fiber markets, AT&T customers can get access to 100% fiber speeds of 100 Mbps, AT&T Internet 300 Mbps, and AT&T Internet 1000 Mbps.

“This expansion furthers our leadership in the industry as the largest provider of fiber-powered home internet service across our 21-state footprint.’ AT&T said in a statement on its website. “We’re also the nation’s largest provider of fiber for business services. Currently, we cover nearly 2.2 million U.S. business customer locations. With fiber, businesses can access innovative solutions like highly-secure networking, cloud computing and video conferencing and collaboration tools.”

AT&T says they are not stopping at expanding fibers reach. According to AT&T, they are investing in additional backhaul as part of its push for new fiber markets and the rollout of 5G home internet “when the time comes.”
