Earlier this year, AT&T TV NOW rolled out two new packages and dramatically raised the price on its older, now grandfathered packages. At that time, if you already had the packages, you got to keep your current price minus a small price hike.
This morning AT&T started to contact AT&T TV NOW customers to inform them that their discounted price will be going away, and they will soon be paying $85 or more if you are on the old Go Big package, for example.
Update: An AT&T spokesperson reached out to Cord Cutters News with the following statement: We’re adjusting our pricing to reflect the cost to deliver content to our customers. Customers can contact us at any time to review their plans or make account changes.
Update #2: If you are looking for other options for TV after this price hike you can find our full break down of 8 different live TV streaming services HERE.
Update #3: AT&T TV NOW Plus and MAX packages will be going up by $15 a month. According to our sources, this will take effect on November 19th, 2019. This also lines up with the fact that all the email notifications about the price hikes are for customers with renewal dates after the 19th of November. (AT&T earlier had confirmed the date as the 20th but AT&T has now changed that to the 19th.)
AT&T is required to give customers at least 30 day’s notice of any price change. Some AT&T TV NOW customers may not have received a price hike notification yet because of when their billing cycle ends.
Here is a copy of the email that went out to many AT&T TV NOW customers today:
Thank you for being an AT&T TV NOW customer. We hope you have been enjoying all the endless entertainment you love—anytime, anywhere, on your favorite devices.
We wanted to let you know that as programming costs continue to rise, the price of your AT&T TV NOW package will be increasing to $85 starting with your 11/24/2019 payment.
The price increase will not affect the cost of add-ons, like 3rd stream or premium channels, nor will it affect any discounts you may already receive on your account.
As always, you can review your options for packages and prices, or if you do not wish to continue your subscription, you can cancel any time.
Thank you for streaming with us.
Sincerely,
Your AT&T TV NOW Team
Some AT&T TV NOW customer’s emails do say they are keeping their $25 discount for being an early subscriber. Others like the customer in the email above are not receiving a $25 discount. If your email did not include the $25 discount and you think you should qualify for it, make sure you contact AT&T’s customer support.
