Reps for AT&T are saying that the nation wide launch date for AT&T TV will be February 27th. Multiple sources have confirmed this launch date to Cord Cutters News.
Update: An AT&T spokesperson has sent Cord Cutters News the following statement. As always dates for new services and products can change forward or backward without warning.
“We have not yet announced a national launch date for AT&T TV and any reports suggesting otherwise is inaccurate.”
Previously, we heard rumors that the cable-like service from AT&T would be available nationwide as early as today, February 11th, after AT&T commented that the launch would be sometime this month. Now, it seems AT&T has pushed back the launch.
Keep in mind that AT&T frequently includes a note on announcements, saying that dates and details are subject to change. There could be a last minute change in plans for AT&T TV, causing the service to go live earlier or later than expected. As of today, the target date for the launch of the service is February 27th.
AT&T TV is the streaming version of DIRECTV. The service went live in select cities last year. The cable-like service requires a two year contract, with pricing for the first 12 months starting at $59.99/month with some hidden fees. The price goes up after the first 12 months. AT&T TV is 4K enabled and comes with 500 hours of DVR.
