A young woman is sitting in her kitchen and is loking at her receipts at home while using a smart phoneRecently, AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson discussed plans for a new DIRECTV NOW package during a trial about the merger with Time Warner. Today, we thought it would be a great time to take a look at plans currently offered for AT&T customers, and what the new plan will look like.

DIRECTV NOW Plans (Without a Discount)

With several packages to choose from, live TV available on most streaming devices, and the customer service of a well-known company, DIRECTV NOW is a popular option among cord cutters. DIRECTV NOW has four packages available currently.

  • Live a Little – $35/month and 60+ channels
  • Just Right – $50/month and 80+ channels
  • Go Big – $60/month and 100+ channels
  • Gotta Have It – $70/month and 120+ channels

You can try any of the packages before subscribing, with a 7-day free trial. After signing up, you can stream content on up to 2 devices simultaneously. Your subscription gives you access to the live channels available on your plan, along with On Demand content.

For an extra fee each month, you can add the following premium channels.

  • HBO for $5/month
  • Cinemax for $5/month
  • Showtime for $8/month
  • Starz for $8/month

Discounted DIRECTV NOW Plans For AT&T Customers

Because DIRECTV is an AT&T service, there are some major benefits for AT&T customers. First, those with a mobile phone with an AT&T plan can stream DIRECTV NOW content through the app on their mobile device without it counting against their monthly data allowance.

AT&T customers can also choose to bundle their phone and streaming content plans to save money. With an AT&T Unlimited Plus Enhanced plan, customers can get a $15 discount on a DIRECTV or DIRECTV NOW package, taking the cost of the current packages down to $20-55.

In addition to the discount for current AT&T customers, the company frequently offers promotions for new customers, including deals and discounts on DIRECTV NOW subscriptions. Keep an eye out if you’re looking to make a switch in phone carriers, along with streaming services.

FREE HBO

If you are an AT&T Ulimited plan can now get FREE HBO. Customers who have the AT&T Unlimited wireless plan, but don’t subscribe to an AT&T video service, can still get HBO. They can still access HBO content through the DIRECTV Now or HBO Go apps. No video subscription necessary!

The New Package $15 Option

During the trial, Stephenson announced the new DIRECTV NOW package being developed. The new plan, called AT&T Watch, is likely include most of the channels included in the Live a Little package. However, a specific channel lineup hasn’t yet been released.

What we do know is that this skinny bundle will not include sports. The sports free plan with this price point will make this package competition for Philo (also sports-free and starting at $16/month).

Stephenson also mentioned that the new package would cost subscribers $15/month. With the AT&T customer discount, AT&T Watch will be free for those with an AT&T Unlimited phone plan.
