The BBC Studios and ITV streaming service BritBox has announced it’s August slate, with lots of new shows to help you get your British Fix. It’s the US Premiere of Wild Bill starring Rob Lowe on August 4, and Agatha Christie’s Marple joins the content library with seasons 1 – 5 available later this month.
Here’s the full lineup of what’s new in August:
- August 4, 2020: Wild Bill Season 1| BritBox Original U.S. Premiere | New Episodes Airs Weekly
Six-time Golden Globe nominee Rob Lowe (The West Wing, Parks and Recreation) stars as high-flying U.S. cop Bill Hixon who after losing his job in the States arrives in the UK with his teenage daughter to shake up the East Lincolnshire Police Force – and his own life in the process – in this sharp-witted original take on the police procedural. This series also stars Rachael Stirling (The Bletchley Circle: San Francisco, Tipping the Velvet) and Bronwyn James (Outlander, Call The Midwife).
- August 7, 2020: Moving On Seasons 1-9|Exclusive, North American Premiere S 8&9
Created by Emmy and BAFTA winner Jimmy McGovern (Cracker, Broken), this series of stand-alone contemporary dramas set in Britain follow characters experiencing some form of change in their lives. The series explores complex issues from addiction and infidelity, to depression and financial struggles; the life of a soldier’s wife, to the pain of a loved one lost. Lies that should never have been spoken to truths that are hard to hear – all linked by a common theme of characters who reach a turning point in life… and then move on. - August 14, 2020: QI – Season “R”| BritBox Exclusive, North American Premiere I Airs Weekly (releasing with 9 episodes to catch up to the UK and then weekly with NOW feature)
Alan Davies (Jonathan Creek, Damned) and Sandi Toksvig (The Great British Bake-Off) star in this clever comedy quiz show full of quirky facts, in which contestants are rewarded more if their answers are ‘quite interesting’.
- August 18, 2020: There She Goes Season 2| BritBox Original Co-Production, North American Premiere I Two Episode Premiere And Then Airs Weekly
Starring BAFTA winners David Tennant (Doctor Who, Broadchurch) and Jessica Hynes (Spaced) this dramedy shines a light on the everyday struggles and triumphs of a family looking after their severely learning disabled nine-year-old girl, Rosie. The stories, characters, and situations in the series are drawn from the real life experiences of creator and producers Shaun Pye and his wife Sarah Crawford, whose daughter was born with a rare undiagnosed chromosomal disorder.
- August 21, 2020: Murder, Mystery and My Family Season 3| BritBox Exclusive, North American Premiere I
Two leading British criminal barristers re-investigate historical murder cases in this return of the award-winning and engaging true crime series. Follow this emotional journey as modern-day descendants try to clear the names of relatives executed for murder, and determine whether irreversible miscarriages of justice had occurred.

- August 25, 2020: Agatha Christie’s Marple Seasons 1 – 5 | Exclusive, New to BritBox I 20 X 120
