It seems CBS All Access has found a winning formula thanks to their new Star Trek: Discovery show. This week, CBS reported that they have hit 2.5 million CBS All Access subscribers during the TCA summer press tour.

To build on this success, CBS has announced a new set of Star Trek shows including shorts to expand their current Star Trek universe and a new show centered on Patrick Stewart returning to his role as Jean-Luc Picard on CBS All Access.

“Each episode will deliver closed-ended stories while revealing clues about what’s to come in future Star Trek: Discovery episodes,” said Alex Kurtzman. “They’ll also introduce audiences to new characters who may inhabit the larger world of Star Trek.”

No dates have been given for when these shows will go live, but it is likely the new Jean-Luc Picard show won’t hit CBS All Access until 2019.
