It looks like CBS is far from done building out Star Trek on CBS All Access. We already know there is a new Star Trek show with Patrick Steward coming and now there is an animated Star Trek show in the works.

Alex Kurtzman, who is working on the Star Trek shows for CBS All Access, said there is not one but two animated Star Trek shows in the works in a interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

We already knew about the Sar Trek Lower Decks show, but Kurtzman said that there is at least one more animated Star Trek show in the works.

We still don’t know what the new show will be about, but we do know that it will be very different from the in the works Lower Decks show.

CBS has been doubling down on content to make CBS All Access stand out. They hope building out the hit franchise Star Trek will drive subscribers to CBS All Access. The only question now is will they water it down by rolling out too many shows to the point that people will no longer care.
