Today I am very excited to announce that Cord Cutters News is launching a new app on iOS, Android, and Amazon Fire. With this app you can easily access all the news, reviews, and editorials from Cord Cutters News.

This app is 100% free and will bring you full access to all of the cord cutting news you want. You will also be able to save your favorite stories or how-to guides, making it easy to find them later offline reading. In addition, you can adjust the size of the text for easier reading. We also offer a dark mode for easier reading at night.

Here are links to our new app on your favorite platform:

Android Google Play

iOS

Amazon Fire Tablets

So why would you want this new app vs just using Facebook?

Today Facebook and other services are filtering out newsgroups, and this means if you count on Facebook to see our news you are likely missing out.

Recently Facebook posted a statement about efforts to downplay pages like Cord Cutters News. “As we make these updates, Pages may see their reach, video watch time and referral traffic decrease,” Adam Mosseri wrote. “The impact will vary from Page to Page, driven by factors including the type of content they produce and how people interact with it. Pages making posts that people generally don’t react to or comment on could see the biggest decreases in distribution. Pages whose posts prompt conversations between friends will see less of an effect.”

Cord Cutters News has not been hit as hard as other news groups that have lost most of their Facebook traffic. We only lost about a third of the traffic we had from Facebook before the new Facebook settings came into play. But we do hear from many of our readers that they no longer see our posts in their Facebook feed.

So if you want to make sure you see the cord cutting news you want Facebook may not be the place to access this news. I would strongly suggest no longer counting on feeds such as Facebook for your news because they are deliberately filtering content from sites like Cord Cutters News.

With that said it is Facebook’s right to show the content, they want to promote. They are a private company just like Cord Cutters News is. We will continue to use Facebook to share our news stories but if you really want to make sure you get news from Cord Cutters News you should consider downloading our new app.
