The tradition of watching Charlie Brown holiday specials can continue, even for those without access to Apple TV+. Apple says it will make the specials available on PBS and PBS Kids along with offering the programming on its streaming service.
Last month, Apple announced that it had acquired rights to all new and classic Peanuts content, including the beloved holiday specials that have traditionally aired on ABC and CBS. While Apple shared that the specials will stream for free on Apple TV+ throughout the holidays, questions and concerns have been pouring in since the announcement was made, most from parents who want to share the experience they had growing up of tuning into the specials on traditional TV, with their kids.
Addressing those concerns, Apple and PBS have shared that “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” will air on PBS and PBS Kids on November 22 at 7:30 pm. “A Charlie Brown Christmas” will air on PBS and PBS Kids on December 13, 2020 at 7:30 pm.
Apple will still be streaming the specials for free with “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” streaming free from November 25-27 and “A Charlie Brown Christmas” streaming free from December 11-13.
There will be one difference in the viewing experience this year, whether you choose to watch on PBS or stream on Apple TV+. The specials will air without ads.
