Today it was announced that Chip and Joanna Gaines are launching a new TV network with Discovery on October 4th, 2020. This new network will replace the DIY network meaning it will be available on Sling TV, Philo, & FuboTV.
“Chip and Joanna Gaines have become trusted, household names since the debut of Fixer Upper and through this joint venture, Discovery is proud to extend our relationship with them,” said David Zaslav, CEO of Discovery in a statement. “They’ve got authenticity and relatability, that special something that is so difficult in our business to find. People love them, their taste, their businesses – they’ve built an ecosystem that aligns perfectly with our vision at Discovery for fueling people’s passions.”
The new network has yet to be named but will build off their success with the Fixer Upper show and likely keep popular DIY shows that fit the new brand. No other details have been announced but look for more news to come in the months leading up to the launch.
