Recently there has been much speculation about when DIRECTV NOW will come to Roku Players. AT&T and Roku had set the goal of having it on Roku players by the end of March 2017.

Now we can confirm that DIRECTV NOW will NOT be on Roku players by the end of the month. On March 23rd Roku updated their blog post to change the date from 1st quarter 2017 to just 2017. We reached out to Roku today and confirmed that the DIRECTV NOW app is still in development but will not be out before April 1st 2017.

DIRECTV NOW is still coming to Roku devices soon but it is likely that both AT&T and DIRECTV NOW want to make sure everything is perfect first. They likely want to avoid some of the issues that happened with the roll out of DIRECTV NOW on the Fire TV and Apple TV.

No new time frame has been set or even hinted at. We will update this story as we learn more.

Here are the packages and pricing of DIRECTV NOW:

  • Live a Little 60+ Channels $35 a Month
  • Just Right 80+ Channels $50 a Month
  • Go Big 100+ Channels $60 a Month
  • Gotta Have It 120+ Channels $70 a Month
