The dream of 5G is that it will replace home internet. To do that there needs to be a home router that can connect to 5G and create a WiFi network for all your devices. Noe D-Link has announced a product to do just that.
With this 5G router, all you need to do is plug in your 5G sim card and you now have home internet. With this D-Link DWR 2010 router, there will be no need for someone to come to your house to get internet. You just drive down to your local Verizon or T-Mobile store pick up a sim card and this router and you now have home internet.
The D-Link DWR-2010 router is expected to hit stores in late 2019 and will be sold through various cellular carriers around the country.
Verizon’s 5G home internet service is already live in Houston, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, and Sacramento. The cost will be $50 a month for Verizon Wireless customers and $70 for non-Verizon Wireless customers. The best part is that there is no data cap for Verizon’s 5G home internet service. AT&T and T-Mobile both have said they plan to launch home internet services soon. Dish is hard at work also on 5G internet with a 2020 goal.
This new 5G router from D-Link will be at CES and Cord Cutters News will do our best to get a demo of the new device.
