DECADES TV Network Will Air “The Mod Squad” Marathon in Memory of Peggy Lipton

DECADES TV Network will be honoring the life and career of actress Peggy Lipton, who passed away on May 11, 2019, with a marathon of one of her most well-known shows “The Mod Squad.” The 42 back to back episode marathon will air Saturday, May 18 at 1:00 PM through Monday, May 20 at 7:00 AM.

Lipton took on the role of Julia Barnes on The Mod Squad in 1968. The show ran for five seasons and during the time, Peggy Lipton earned four Emmy Award nominations and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in 1971.

Aaron Spelling made this quote about the groundbreaking show at the time, “We’re telling it like it is. Somebody has to help adults understand young people. They’ve got so many hang-ups and nobody seems to care. Love is the answer. Those hippies are right. Those kids are so totally involved with life, they’ve involved me.”

After marrying Quincy Jones in 1974 and having two children, Peggy Lipton made her return to acting in 1990 to pay diner owner Norma Jennings on the TV show Twin Peaks. Lipton came back to her role in the 2017 revival of Twin Peaks.

DECADES TV Network is available as an OTA channel in many locations. Visit their website to find out how to watch in your area.
