When DIRECTV NOW 2.0 launched in May 2018 AT&T said it would be available on most devices within weeks. It seems that AT&T has kept their word. This week DIRECTV NOW 2.0 launched on Roku.

AT&T made it clear that they wanted to hold off on releasing their DIRECTV NOW 2.0 until it could be fully tested. When DIRECTV NOW launched in 2016, it was widely slammed as a buggy and poorly executed launch. Although no launch can ever be perfect AT&T has made a serious effort to make the 2.0 DIRECTV NOW roll out a smoother one.

While some may have been frustrated with the slow beta testing process for DIRECTV NOW 2.0, this was good news for cord cutting. Although DIRECTV NOW 2.0 is far from perfect, it is far better than DIRECTV NOW’s original launch. A launch that buggy can easily push new cord cutters back to a pay-TV service and gives a poor example of what cord cutting is really like.

While far from perfect the DIRECTV NOW 2.0 roll out was a huge improvement over their original launch in 2016.
