Last night DIRECTV NOW added more CW locals to their lineup. It seems to be mostly Sinclair owned CW Networks including WCTV The CW 18 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Birmingham, Alabama according to a report on Reddit and confirmed by Cord Cutters News.
Update: Here are all the CW locals DIRECTV NOW added today, Atlanta, Birmingham, Chicago, Columbus, Detroit, Fresno-Visalia, Las Vegas, Milwaukee, Nashville, Oklahoma City, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Sacramento, San Antonio, San Francisco, Seattle, Temple, and West Palm Beach.
Since 2017 DIRECTV NOW has slowly been adding CW affiliates include CBS 7 KIRO in Seattle, NBC 12 KPNX in Phoenix, Arizona to name a few. Now it looks like the Sinclair owned, The CW affiliates, have started to roll out on DIRECTV NOW.
Recently DIRECTV NOW has not been waiting to add every affiliate at once from a company but adding them as they are ready so its likely not all Sinclair owned affiliates have been added.
DIRECTV NOW has made it clear that adding local affiliates is a priority. Every week they have been adding a few locals here and there. DIRECTV NOW is not alone in their efforts to add local TV to their streaming service. Hulu, PlayStation Vue, fuboTV, YouTube TV, and others have all been rushing to add as many locals as they can.
