This deal seems to be targeted to previous subscribers of DIRECTV NOW to help bring them back. You will need to check your email to see if you received a message from DIRECTV NOW with the offer in it.
This all comes as the fight for live TV streaming subscribers heats up. Recently AT&T has been doing everything they can to buy new subscribers—from offering great device deals on Apple TV and Roku streaming players to offering steep discounts for new subscribers to test out the service.
These deals have helped make DIRECTV NOW one of the fastest growing live TV streaming services in the United States. The question now is will DIRECTV NOW keep the subscribers once the introductory offers are done.
Historically, most subscribers will stay with a service once they subscribe. So, the plan to buy subscribers may pay off. Yet with cord cutting there are no contracts, so subscribers could easily jump ship once the deal is done. For now we will have to wait and see if DIRECTV NOW can keep the subscribers they are buying with crazy good offers.
