DIRECTV NOW DVR? PlayStation Vue Roku Update? We Answer Your Questions

Every week I hold a Q&A about cord cutting on Twitter and Facebook. Recently I have seen a huge increase in people asking two common questions. So I wanted to take a minute to answer these questions here for everyone to see.

When will DIRECTV NOW add a DVR?

When DIRECTV NOW launched late last year, AT&T made it clear that a DVR would be coming; however, any talk of the DVR has ceased leaving many to wonder what is happening.

The DVR is still coming. It is likely coming later in 2017. AT&T made it clear that the DVR would likely come out in 2017 but never said when. With all the issues at launch and the slow roll out of Roku support I would not expect the DVR until late 2017.

So hang in there. Yes, a DVR is coming, but I do not know when. Until then AT&T seems to be working on making its on-demand better by including more recently aired shows.

Will PlayStation Vue update its Roku channel?

Let’s be honest, the PlayStation Vue Roku channel is ugly. With the recent release of beautiful channels from DIRECTV NOW, Comcast, and even the new Sling Guide, it really makes the PlayStation Vue Roku channel look old.

Now the PlayStation Vue channel works, but many users have been asking if Sony will update its PlayStation Vue Roku channel. We have bad news for you.

Sadly Sony has never even hinted at plans to update its Roku channel. Why Sony has never bothered to make any changes to its PlayStation Vue Roku channel is anyone’s guess at this time.
